The library
Wanted: the Omega catalogues we're still missing
Every answer on this site comes from Omega's own printed catalogues. Four are missing from the library, and one more is only partly here. If you have one, or know where one is, I want to hear from you.
GF 548
The pre-1949 catalogue for the 30 mm family: calibres 30T2, 265 to 269 and 283 to 286.
The 30 mm movements are among the most common vintage Omegas, and their parts lists live in this book.
The Red Book
Omega's dressing-components catalogue: cases, dials, hands and crowns, listed by case reference.
Case parts decide whether a watch is correct. This is the book that answers it.
GF 494
The 1936 supplement to GF 239.
The earliest calibres in the library start here.
GF 620-2
The one GF 620 volume collectors say they have never seen.
It would complete the GF 620 run.
GF 620-4, bound
Held here only as loose sections and scans.
A complete bound copy would close the gaps between them.
How you can help
- Sell it. Name your price.
- Photograph it. Every page, flat and in daylight, and I'll do the rest. The book never leaves your hands.
- Point me to one. A retiring watchmaker, an estate lot, a library. A tip that leads to a copy counts.
Any of the three gets your name on this page, if you want it there, and free reports on your own watches.
Have one, or know where one is?
Write to me with the catalogue number and a photo of the cover.
On the way
The AWI Omega microfiche set, all nine sheets, and a bound GF 620-6 arrive in October. The fiche coverage lookup shows which calibres the fiche covers.
Also wanted: case weights
The gold register needs weights of bare gold Omega cases, measured on a kitchen scale with the movement out. Weigh your Omega takes about a minute.
