Omega 565 parts list: the parts people hunt, and which calibres share them

The 565 is the 24-jewel automatic with quick-set date in the 1960s Seamaster, Genève, Seamaster De Ville and Cosmic. Omega's GF 620-3 catalogue lists 111 part numbers for it, and exactly one of them belongs to the 565 alone. Here are the parts people hunt, with the calibres in the family that share each number.

One part of its own

109of the 111 parts are also listed for the 564, the Constellation chronometer
104are also listed for the 563, the 17-jewel twin
67are also listed for the 550, the no-date base

The only part number Omega lists for the 565 and nothing else is its train wheel bridge, 565.1003. That makes the rest of the family a parts bin: a 563 from a plain Seamaster or Genève, a 564 from a Constellation, or a 550 or 552 from a no-date watch can each supply most of what a 565 needs. The date parts come from the 560, 561 and 562 as well (15 parts are shared with at least one of them).

The jewels that make it a 24-jewel movement. Jewels 4249, 4250, 4251 and 4253 sit in the automatic winding works. They are listed for the 551, 552, 561, 562, 564 and 565, but not for the 550 or 563. That is the difference between a 24-jewel and a 17-jewel movement in this family, and why a 563 and a 565 look alike but aren't worth the same. The Seamaster guide covers how to tell them apart.
Why the bridge matters when you buy. Because the train wheel bridge is the one part the 565 doesn't share, it is the part that carries the calibre number. A "565" with a 563 bridge fitted is a 563 with extra jewels, or a rebuild. Read the bridge before you pay a 565 price.

Source: Omega's GF 620-3 spare-parts catalogue, including the 563 supplement section, as transcribed into the Watch Breaker parts database. "Also listed for" means the same part number is printed for that calibre in the 55x/56x family; the parts finder shows every calibre a part fits. The catalogue's English lists the date disc as a "month indicator"; it is shown here as the date indicator (the French is quantième). Not sure it's a 565?

The calibre number is on the movement bridge, with the caseback off. The 550 and 563 are 17 jewels; the 552 and 565 are 24; the 564 is the chronometer in the Constellation. The calibre lookup has the specifications for each, and the free 560 to 565 data sheet sets the date calibres side by side.

Questions people ask

Are Omega 563 and 565 parts interchangeable?

Almost all of them. Of the 111 part numbers Omega lists for the 565, 104 are also listed for the 563. The differences are the 565's own train wheel bridge, the two automatic-device bridges, and the four extra winding jewels that make the 565 a 24-jewel movement against the 563's 17.

What is the difference between the Omega 564 and 565?

The 564 is the chronometer in the Constellation and the 565 the everyday version in the Seamaster, Genève and De Ville. They share 109 of the 565's 111 part numbers; the two 565 parts not listed for the 564 are the train wheel bridge, 565.1003, and the upper bridge for the automatic device, 552.1031.

Which part is unique to the Omega 565?

Only one: the train wheel bridge, 565.1003. Every other part number Omega lists for the 565 is shared with at least one other calibre.

Where can I buy Omega 565 parts?

Swatch Group stopped supplying spare parts to independent wholesalers at the end of 2015, so 565 parts come from used stock and donor movements. The parts people hunt are listed on this page with live eBay searches, and the parts finder shows which donor calibres share any part.
